Hunger / Gate 9

The Hunger, which found initial residence in Gate 9 of Folsom Stadium on CU Boulder’s campus was a sanctioned university student club. Run by Matt, Drew and Andy this was the Boulder alternative to the more mainstream Pogos 3.2 nightclub, and Denver’s mainstays Thirstys and the Grove. Pushing shopping carts full of home stereo equipment and vinyl albums, we transformed a barren concrete room into our vision of a European discotheque. Ousted from its Gate 9 location, it found a final home at the universities newly opened Club 156. It was here, during a ticket giveaway for the inaugural NIN tour, that no one could name Trent as the frontman.
