I DJ’d here with the incomporable DJs Gary and Steve-O from the early 90′s until then new millennium. Never was a resident but spun many nights in the lower room with bartenders Doug and Sheila – and upstairs covering for Gary with the beautiful Christy (she will always be missed)
The lower booth was a cramped, wedge shaped pit that was far too accessible to drunks, but equally allowed favorable interactions. I never had a bad night here – and remember fondly the year Regas took out the center spread of Westword with a picture of all of us employees outside the front entrance of Deadbeat for the Holidays (I have this issue – and will scan and post the picture ASAP.)
